British rider Cat Ferguson (Movistar Team) won the Trofeu Llucmajor on Sunday, the second race of the III Garden Hotels & Resorts Challenge Mallorca women’s series, which started and finished in the municipality of Llucmajor. The winner clocked a time of 3 hours, 35 minutes, and 49 seconds.

The day was once again affected by the wind, which made the race tough from the early kilometers and led to a very tense competition. In the first part of the race, a breakaway formed, featuring Luccon (Fassa Bortolo), Gorostiza (Eulen), Almena (Cantabria), and Dias (Team Farto), which at one point held a lead of more than two minutes over the peloton.

The breakaway was neutralized at kilometer 83 thanks to the combined efforts of UAE Team ADQ and Movistar. Shortly after, the strong pace and crosswinds broke up the main group, leaving 16 riders at the front, who then contested the victory in Llucmajor. In the final sprint, Ferguson was the fastest, ahead of France’s Clara Coponi (Lidl Trek) and the Netherlands’ Sofie Van Rooijen (UAE Team ADQ), who completed the podium.
