Mallorca will once again become the epicenter of international cycling between January 24 and February 1, 2026, with the celebration of the 3rd Garden Hotels & Resorts Challenge Mallorca Women’s Cycling Race and the 35th Garden Hotels & Resorts Challenge Mallorca Men’s Cycling Race. The institutional presentation of both events took place today at the Consolat de Mar, the seat of the Balearic Government, with the presence of the island’s main authorities, as well as representatives of the sponsors and collaborators.
For the third consecutive year, the best female riders in the international peloton will kick off the season on the island with the Garden Hotels & Resorts Challenge Mallorca Women’s Cycling Race. Over three days, some of the best teams in the international women’s peloton will begin their season in Mallorca competing for three trophies: the Marratxí-Felanitx Trophy (Saturday, January 24); Llucmajor Trophy (Sunday, January 25) and Binissalem-Port d’Andratx Trophy (Monday, January 26).
A peloton with 18 women’s teams
On the starting ramp of this women’s edition, some of the best cyclists in the international peloton will be present, distributed among a peloton made up of a total of 18 teams: 5 UCI World Teams, 3 Pro Teams, 11 Continental Teams, including the five Spanish teams, and the Spanish National Road Cycling Team.
Live television coverage
As was the case last year, fans will be able to follow the finishes of the stages, both of the women’s and men’s Challenge, on television, thanks to the agreement with the institutions and their commitment to the Challenge Ciclista Mallorca as a strategic event in the island’s tourism promotion. The races will be broadcast on the Max and Discovery platforms, as well as Eurosport and Teledeporte. The regional television channel IB3 will also offer live streaming of the finishes.
Garden Hotels & Resorts, with cycling
As in previous editions, Garden Hotels & Resorts will continue as the main corporate sponsor of the Challenge, in both the women’s and men’s categories. For ten days, the caravan of both competitions will be accommodated at the Playa Garden Selection Hotel & Spa and Alcúdia Garden Aparthotel, both part of the Garden Hotels & Resorts group. This agreement involves more than 3,000 overnight stays, including athletes, technical teams, organizers, and national and international media. With this commitment to cycling, Garden Hotels & Resorts reinforces its position as a leader in the cycle tourism segment, targeting key European markets.
Founded in Mallorca in 1986, this family-owned company has over 30 years of experience in hotel management and operates 14 three-, four-, and five-star establishments in Mallorca, Menorca, Ibiza, Huelva, Fuerteventura, and the Dominican Republic, offering a wide range of services and national and international cuisine.
“For another year, we continue our commitment to the Challenge and its sponsorship, which aligns with our values and strategy, consolidating sport as a vehicle for change towards a more responsible and environmentally friendly model,” stated Gabriel Llobera, Marketing & Communications Director of Garden Hotel Group.
For his part, Manuel Hernández, Director of Unisport Consulting, highlighted the institutions’ commitment to the Challenge and also the advantage of having a sponsor like Garden Hotels & Resorts: “As in the previous two years, we are once again concentrating the women’s and men’s races into ten days, making Mallorca the world epicenter of cycling at all levels. I want to especially thank the Consell de Mallorca and the Balearic Government for their support, because without their contribution and commitment to our race, it would be impossible to cover the cost of producing the television broadcast. And I also want to thank Garden Hotels & Resorts once again for their sponsorship, which provides its excellent accommodations so that the international peloton has the best possible conditions,” he said.
The President of the Balearic Government, Marga Prohens, closed the event. In her address, she stated that the Women’s Cycling Challenge “is also an example of how sport helps break down barriers, create role models, and give visibility to women who, with effort, talent, and perseverance, are writing a new chapter in the history of cycling.” She added, “The Challenge confirms, once again, Mallorca’s capacity to host major sporting events of global reach, with the presence of top-level teams and cyclists, and with routes that showcase the unique character of our landscape, our climate, and our territory to the world.”
