Llucmajor will be part of the route of the upcoming Challenge Mallorca Femenina, to be held from January 24 to 26, 2026, and will host the start and finish of the second stage of the cycling race on Sunday, January 25.
The agreement was formalized this week at the Llucmajor Town Hall between Mayor Xisca Lascolas, Councilor for Sports Rafael Amengual, and the CEO of Unisport Consulting, Manuel Hernández, the company organizing the event.
The mayor expressed her satisfaction with the return of top-level cycling to Llucmajor: “We are very pleased to host the start of this stage of the Women’s Challenge in the largest municipality in Mallorca, which boasts the most extensive cycling tourism network. It is a magnificent opportunity to further promote our municipality during the off-season and thus contribute to extending the tourist season,” Lascolas emphasized.
For his part, the Councilor for Sports emphasized the importance of supporting women’s sport: “We are resuming our collaboration with the Challenge, and in this case, we are doing so with the women’s race because women’s sport deserves to be supported. It is growing in all areas and categories. We are grateful to be the starting point for this stage and hope that riders like Mavi García can participate,” stated Amengual.
The CEO of Unisport Consulting, Manuel Hernández, thanked the Llucmajor City Council for its support and celebrated the municipality’s inclusion in the route: “Llucmajor is a benchmark for Mallorcan cycling, and its involvement reinforces the Challenge’s commitment to promoting women’s cycling and Mallorca’s international profile as a sporting destination.”
The Challenge Mallorca Femenina will celebrate its third edition in 2026, solidifying its position as one of the most prominent cycling events on the European calendar at the start of the season.
