The Consolat de Mar, headquarters of the Government of the Balearic Islands, has hosted the official presentation ceremony of the I Garden Hotels-Luxcom Women’s Cycling Challenge Mallorca, which was attended by the main authorities of the island, as well as the mayors of the municipalities where the race will stop and representatives of the sponsors and commercial collaborators of the test.
The first Garden Hotels-Luxcom Mallorca Cycling Challenge for women will allow you to enjoy the best runners on the island’s roads. Over three days, some of the best teams in the international women’s squad will start the season in Mallorca with the competition for three trophies: Felanitx-Colonia de Sant Jordi Trophy (Saturday, January 20); Palma Trophy (Sunday, January 21) and Binissalem-Andratx Trophy (Monday, January 22).
Live television
Fans will be able to follow the development of the stages live with the live broadcast on television, thanks to the agreement with the institutions and their commitment to the Challenge Ciclista Mallorca as a strategic event in the tourism promotion of the island. In this way, Eurosport and Teledeporte will offer fans around the world the live signal of the last hour and a half of each of the three events.
The broadcast time of the finals of each day will be from 3:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. every day, except for the Palma Trophy, on Sunday the 21st, when the time will be from 12:45 p.m. to 2:15 p.m. in both cases.
22 teams
The peloton of this first Garden Hotels Luxcom-Challenge Ciclista Mallorca will be made up of a total of 22 teams from 13 different countries, with the presence even of a Canadian team, Team Primeau Vélo Groupe Abadie, the Panamanian Soltec Team or the UAE Team ADQ from the Arab Emirates. The final peloton of the test will be made up of six formations of the UCI Women’s World Team category and the rest will be teams of the UCI Continental Team category. They will be joined by the Spanish road team, with the presence of the Spanish champion Mavi García.
