Mallorca will once again become the epicenter of international cycling between January 24 and February 1, 2026, with the celebration of the 3rd Women’s Mallorca Cycling Challenge and the 35th Men’s Mallorca Cycling Challenge. This was announced today by Manuel Hernández, director of Unisport Consulting, the company organizing the event, to the media at an event held at Gomila Palma Apartments, which was attended by the Minister of Tourism, Culture and Sports, Jaume Bauzà; the Executive Councilor for Tourism of the Council of Mallorca, José Marcial Rodríguez; and the Director of Marketing & Communication of Garden Hotel Group, Gabri Llobera.
For the third year, the best female cyclists in the international peloton will kick off the season on the island with the Women’s Mallorca Cycling Challenge. Over three days, some of the best teams in the international women’s peloton will kick off their season in Mallorca, competing for three trophies: the Marratxí-Felanitx Trophy (Saturday, January 24); the Llucmajor Trophy (Sunday, January 25); and the Binissalem-Port d’Andratx Trophy (Monday, January 26).
Live Television
As was the case last year, fans can watch the finishes of both the women’s and men’s Challenge stages on television, thanks to an agreement with local institutions and their commitment to the Challenge Ciclista Mallorca as a strategic event for promoting tourism on the island. The races will be broadcast on the Max and Discovery platforms, as well as Eurosport and Teledeporte, through a production by Medialuso.
The promotional and sporting impact of the Garden Hotels & Resorts Challenge Ciclista Mallorca will be significantly enhanced by the extensive reach of the platforms broadcasting the finishes of the eight Trophies live. This will benefit the tourism promotion efforts of the Balearic Islands institutions, increase the visibility of the event itself, and boost the visibility of the event’s sponsors and partners, as well as the host municipalities.
The regional television channel IB3 will also stream the finishes and, for the first time, will broadcast all the stage finishes of the men’s race following the Notícies Migdia news program, except for Sunday, February 1st, when it will broadcast the finish live.
Garden Hotels & Resorts, with cycling
As in previous editions, Garden Hotels & Resorts will continue as the main corporate sponsor of the Challenge Ciclista Mallorca, in both the women’s and men’s categories. For ten days, the caravans of both competitions will be accommodated at the Playa Garden Selection Hotel & Spa and Alcúdia Garden Aparthotel, both part of the Garden Hotels & Resorts group. This agreement represents more than 3,000 overnight stays, including athletes, technical teams, organizers, and national and international media.
With this commitment to cycling, Garden Hotels & Resorts reinforces its position as a leader in the cycle tourism segment, consolidating a differentiated and outstanding product geared towards key European markets.
Founded in Mallorca in 1986, this family business has over 30 years of experience in hotel management and operates 14 three-, four-, and five-star establishments in Mallorca, Menorca, Ibiza, Huelva, Fuerteventura, and the Dominican Republic, offering a wide range of services and national and international cuisine.

“We continue to uphold our commitment to the Challenge and its sponsorship, which aligns with our values and strategy, consolidating sport as a vehicle for change towards a more responsible and environmentally friendly model,” stated Gabriel Llobera, Marketing & Communications Director of Garden Hotel Group.
During the event, held at Gomila Palma Apartments, a new establishment belonging to the Garden Hotel Group, Manuel Hernández, director of Unisport Consulting, highlighted the commitment of the institutions to the Challenge and also the advantage of having a sponsor like Garden Hotels & Resorts: “As in the previous two years, we are once again concentrating the women’s and men’s races into ten days, making Mallorca the world epicenter of cycling at all levels. I want to especially thank the Consell de Mallorca and the Balearic Government for their support, because without their contribution and their commitment to our race, it would be impossible to cover the cost of producing the television broadcast. And I also want to thank Garden Hotels & Resorts once again for their sponsorship, which provides its excellent accommodations so that the international peloton has the best possible conditions,” he said.
For his part, the Balearic Minister of Tourism, Culture, and Sports, Jaume Bauzà, emphasized that top-level events like the Challenge “consolidate Mallorca as an international benchmark for professional cycling and reinforce our position as a year-round active tourist destination.” “Holding competitions during the winter months demonstrates the enormous power of sport as a tool for reducing seasonality, generating economic activity, employment, and international exposure at a key time for the sector. Furthermore, the presence of the world’s best teams decisively contributes to strengthening the Mallorca brand, associating it with values such as quality, sustainability, health, and sporting excellence,” he added.
Meanwhile, the Executive Minister of Tourism for the Council of Mallorca, José Marcial Rodríguez Díaz, expressed his satisfaction with the event taking place once again this year and affirmed that “the challenge with these types of initiatives is to highlight the territorial identity of each of Mallorca’s 53 municipalities.” “Events like this are necessary tools to change, improve and strengthen the identity of this island,” he added, while highlighting the ability of events like this to bring high-level sport closer to residents and offer added value for those who visit us at this time of year,” he emphasized.
