The seven-time winner of a great round Alberto Contador, the well-known cycling expert journalists Carlos de Andrés and Javier Ares, and the manager of the Movistar Team Eiusebio Unzué will participate on Friday, January 28, at the Palau de Congresos de Palma, in a colloquium in which, under the title of “The new dimension of world cycling” the present and future of current cycling will be analyzed.
Moderated by local journalist Fernando Fernández, the event, scheduled for 7:30 p.m., is organized by the Palma City Council’s Institut Municipal d’Esports (IME) and by the company Unisport Consulting, as part of the celebration of the XXXI Garden Hotels-Luxcom Challenge Ciclista Mallorca, the first round of the professional cycling season in Europe, which will bring together the international squad between January 26 and 30 on the island’s roads. To attend the event, it will be necessary to reserve a place through the website www.vueltamallorca.com and present the COVID certificate.
The Mallorca Cycling Challenge reaches its 31-year history in 2022 and does so by recovering its usual dates on the International Cycling Union (UCI) calendar as the first international competition of the season on the European continent, after last year it was held in May due to the pandemic. In this edition, the test recovers the five days of competition ten years later and will also have a record participation, with the presence of 25 formations, ten of them in the World Team category.
