The Belgian Kobe Goossens (Intermarché Circus Wanty) has achieved an epic triumph in the rain and cold at the Mirador des Colomer, by winning alone at the finish line of the Trofeu Andratx-Mirador des Colomer (Pollença), third round of the XXXII Garden Hotels-Luxcom Mallorca Cyclist Challenge.
Goossens has culminated an adventure that began at kilometer 87, when he jumped from the main group to link up a group of escapees. On the ramps of Puig, Goosens has been leaving behind all the breakaway companions and only his compatriot Cian Uijtdebroeks (BORA – Hansgrohe) has been able to follow him. Both riders rode together for thirty kilometers, until Goossens was left alone in the lead, with 25 kilometers to go.

Far from reducing the differences, Goosens has increased them over the leading group, led by Soudal Quick-Step, and has reached the finish line with a 39″ advantage over Pelayo Sánchez (Burgos BH) and 40″ over Lennert Van Eetvelt (Lotto DSTNY ), which gave the leading group time.
